Restoring Light: A Candle-Making Workshop

Join us for a unique candle-making workshop where we repurpose old, used candles into something entirely new—just as we reclaim and transform our own stories. This hands-on experience blends creativity with reflection, allowing participants to melt down the past and shape it into a renewed source of light.

Through this process, we’ll explore the power of restoration—how healing isn’t about erasing the past but embracing it and turning it into something meaningful. As we create, we’ll hold space for discussion, reflection, and shared stories in a warm and supportive environment.

No experience needed—all materials will be provided, including wax from repurposed candles. Feel free to bring your own old or broken candles to breathe new life into them.

Let’s turn something worn into something radiant—together.

Bringing Your Own Used Candles? Here’s How to Prepare!

We encourage participants to bring old or partially used candles to repurpose and transform during the workshop! Here’s how to prepare them for an easy and smooth candle-making process:

  • Freeze Your Candles – Place your used candles in the freezer for a few hours or overnight. This helps the wax shrink slightly, making it easier to remove from glass jars or containers.
  • Remove the Wax – After freezing, gently tap or twist the jar upside down on a soft surface (like a towel) to release the wax. If it’s still stuck, carefully use a butter knife to loosen the edges.
  • Clean the Jars (if reusing) – If you’d like to reuse the jar for your new candle, clean out any remaining wax or wick by placing the jar in warm water and wiping it out.
  • Gather Your Supplies – Bring your wax pieces, old candles, or containers (if you’d like to use your own), and we’ll provide the rest—wicks, scents, and guidance!

No candles to bring? No worries! We’ll have extra materials for you to create something special.
